The Morning – The Chao Phraya River is the Way
You have slept properly during the night and you have woken up fresh, ready for adventure. We recommend you to wake up at 07:00 A.M., so you can prepare yourself and head to the Central Pier. You have two ways to arrive there:
- Call a cab
- Take the BTS Skytrain stop Saphan Taksin (Silom line)
The reason to go to the Central Pier is to buy a Chao Phraya tourist boat pass (approx. $4-5 USD), so you can visit the main attractions near to it. Do not worry, because you can hop on and off the boat as many times as you please.
Hop on the boat and get off at the Maharaj Pier, because here you will find some of the biggest attractions in Bangkok:
- The Grand Palace
- Wat Phra Kaeo
Take your time to explore each attraction within the complex. If possible, you should hire one of the tour guides you will find there.
Return to the boat and hop off when you arrive to the Tha Tien Pier, because here you will find the following attractions:
- Wat Arun
- Wat Pho
The Wat Pho temple is near to the exit of the Pier, as you only need to follow the Thai Wang Road. On the other hand, you will have to take a ferry to arrive to the Wat Arun temple.
Now, you should take your time to eat a proper lunch, and worry not, because you will find plenty of street vendors as well as restaurants near to you, where you can enjoy a delicious meal for a fair price.
The Afternoon – Shopping is the Name of the Game
Now that we have explored the most important cultural parts of Bangkok, it is time to visit the Siam area, where you can enjoy the best of shopping and other modern attractions.
To arrive to Siam, all you need to do is to take the BTS Skytrain, which will take you there without problems.
At Siam, you can visit some of the best malls in the entire Southeast Asian region:
- Siam Square
- Siam Discovery
- Siam Center
- Siam Paragon
You will find all sort of products ranging from expensive designer clothes and accessories to fabulous gadgets. Worry not about the prices, because you will find them in all ranges from the most affordable to the most expensive.
The malls are also a great source of entertainment because you can find food courts, cinemas and even activities like laser tag (Siam Square), in case you want to recreate yourself for a while.
Use this as an opportunity to buy yourself a great souvenir or some gifts for your family and friends, because you can rest assured that you will find everything you can think of right here, and then some more!
It will take you many hours to explore the Siam area, so you should spend your entire afternoon here, because once the night arrives, you can enjoy a different sort of entertainment and experiences, which is a must-see for all travelers as it is something that makes Bangkok different and unique on its own regard.
The Night – When Bangkok Gets a New and Wilder Face
Now, in case you want to explore the famous red light fun of Bangkok, then you should head to the Soi Cowboy, where you will find a plethora of go-go bars and all the naughty things that make it famous.
To arrive to Soi Cowboy, you only need to take the BTS Skytrain and stop at Asok, from where you only have to walk a little bit.
Just relax and have fun, because Soi Cowboy will be nothing else you have seen before. It is a great way to live different experiences that escape out of the normality.
In case you want to explore further, you can return to Asok and take the BTS Skytrain to Patpong, which is another red light district, but it is not strictly necessary, as we feel Soi Cowboy is the best exponent of this type of experience.
Once you are done exploring, you can either go to any club to keep partying, or you can wind down and head to Soi 11, where you can visit us to enjoy a tasty meal to replenish your forces, a refreshing cocktail to relax you and enjoy the best live music for a cool end of the day.
